The glorious Gilded Age shines brightly in the Northern Ballet's hit cinematic adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's cherished novel. Choreographed by David Nixon and scored by Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, let Chanel-inspired costumes and sumptuous sets whisk you back to the Jazz Age where the mystery of self-made millionaire Jay Gatsby captures the imaginations of the well-heeled West Egg community.
What is the story?
The Great Gatsby follows the fortunes of writer Nick Carraway whose life is changed forever when he goes to stay with his cousin Daisy Buchanan in the exclusive West Egg neighborhood. The locals are up in arms about fabulously rich new resident Jay Gatsby, who appears to have it all. But are things exactly as they seem, or is this strange gentleman hiding a darker side?
