The Welsh National Opera sets out on tour once more, bringing an array of productions to audiences across the country. From classics like Cosi Fan Tutte and The Magic Flute to new commissions like Blaze of Glory! there is plenty to enjoy from the esteemed company as they continue their mission to prove the power of Opera can transform lives. With a libretto by Emma Jenkins, this uplifting new production emphatically echoes that mission, following a Male Voice Choir and their own humorous attempts to restore joy to their Welsh Valleys community.

What is the story?

Based on real-life stories, Emma Jenkins weaves a tale of one Welsh Valleys town in the 1950s, blending together a varied fusion of genres, including traditional voice, gospel, acapella, big band, and more to paint a vibrant portrait of a community picking up the pieces after a mining disaster.
